John William Ivanhoe

U.S. Veteran

John William Ivanhoe, age 57 of Sanford, died Sunday (5/6/2012) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. He was born on August 8, 1954, son of the late William Ivanhoe and Carol Workman Ivanhoe. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Stanley Ivanhoe. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a retired nurse. Funeral services and burial will be held at a later date in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. Surviving are his daughter Sheila Kurtin of Georgetown, Texas; Son John (Jay) Ivanhoe Jr. of Belton, Texas; Two grandchildren Gillian and Noel Kurtin. Visitation services will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Broadway. Local arrangements are by the Smith Funeral Home of Broadway and arrangments in Texas are by the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.
